Museums digital infrastructure: Issue #2 — the present of museum collections is cloud

A survey on technology in the visitor experience, research on museum digitalisation, useful readings, and NatSCA 2026.

By MuCoDi·January 27, 2026

Hi, I am Ole Brockhuus, from MuCoDi. This newsletter brings industry news and insights, the trends in museum visitors’ experience, and the digital and technology landscape for museums and collections galleries.

Technology in the visitor experience

“Technology only works when it integrates naturally into the narrative, amplifying the story without overwhelming it. Innovation is therefore not a value in itself, but a narrative accelerator.” The survey is promoted by the National School of Cultural Heritage and Activities as part of the Dicolab — Digital Culture programme.

A study
